Mexico is moving on at the Little League World Series.
Mexico earned a convincing 10-1 win over Canada on Sunday, eliminating the all-stars from Saskatchewan at Volunteer Stadium. Canada was playing its second game in as many days after coming off a 3-0 win on Saturday against Czech Republic in an elimination contest.
This was Saskatchewan's second ever appearance at the Series and first since 2002.
Mexico's offense was solid, producing 11 hits while defensively, Mexico limited Canada to just three.
Canada jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first before Mexico tied it in the bottom of the third at 1-all. Mexico would put the game out of reach with a huge eight-run fourth inning to lead 9-1 and added another run in the fifth inning.
In total, Mexico collected three doubles by Gale Leyva, Marko Mejia and Jonathan Juarez. Jorge Villa (2 for 3) and Mejia (2 for 2) each had two hits.
Canada was led by Jaxon Weir (1 for 2, run), Pierce Sorrell (1 for 2) and Braeden McQueen (1 for 3).
