Davenport, Iowa and Willemstad, Curacao both had two pitches combine in their respective games for two no-hitters on Day 3 of the Little League World Series.
Cooper Thissen went against a tough California team and absolutely dominated. The Davenport, Iowa pitcher struck out 15 through 5 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball and Anthony Johnson came in relief to strike out two as the duo combined on a no-no on the mound against Sweetwater Valley Little League of Bonita, California for a 1-0 win.
It was the first United States no-hitter thrown at the Little League World Series since Jaron Lancaster and Cohen Sakamoto combined for a five-inning no-hitter for Honolulu, Hawaii in 2022.
California's Noah Kirk went 4 2/3 innings and struck out 13 with one hit allowed for California.
For Curacao, it defeated Japan 6-0 thanks to brilliant pitching by Jaymiell Martina and Giendry Ryan. Martina went 4 1/3 innings and threw 67 pitches, striking out seven, before he was taken out and relieved by Ryan.
In relief, Ryan struck out four through his 1 1/3 innings of work, allowing just one runner to reach via error in the top of the sixth inning.
