Olivia Dorner and Alayna McGovern combined to drop just one game as they each won in singles to lead South Williamsport to a 3-1 win over Bucktail in the District 4 tennis team tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.

Two days after winning her third consecutive district singles title, Dorner posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and McGover won, 6-1, 6-0. Paige Kistner and Ella Livorno won, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles to clinch a spot in today's semifinals against top-seeded Central Columbia. Bella English and Alexis Lowery picked up Bucktail's lone win at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, 6-4.

Montoursville dropped a 3-1 match to Central Columbia in the quarterfinals of the District 4 team tournament. Lydia Barbour earned the Warriors' lone victory against the undefeated Blue Jays, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles.

Loyalsock swept the doubles competition to help post a 3-0 win over Selinsgrove to reach the semifinals of the district team tennis tournament. Sarah Hall and Anna Hall combined for a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles, and Madelyn Hall and Isabella Dadzie won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles for the Lancers. District singles runner-up Katie Savidge won at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, to seal the win.

Montgomery's Jenna Waring and Samy Ulrich posted wins at second and third singles to help the Red Raiders beat Towanda, 3-1, in the district team tennis tournament. Montgomery also picked up a win from Taylor McRaw and Mallinie Myers at No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-0 to earn the victory.

• Aleigha Rieppel tallied a hat trick as South Williamsport posted a 5-2 win over Muncy in girls soccer. The Mounties scored five consecutive goals to start the game, with three coming from Rieppel. Elizabeth Manning and Piper Minier also added goals for South. Muncy's Avery Bigelow and Lauren Anderson scored goals.

Sullivan County's Chloe Burke scored a pair of goals with an assist from Kassidy and Bethany Beinlich in a 2-1 win over Montgomery. Sullivan held a 42-2 edge in shots.

• Galeton dropped a girls volleyball match to Oswayo Valley, 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 24-26, 25-5). Alexis Johnson led Galeton with 13 kills, and Alli Macensky added 12. Makenna Shuemaker had 20 digs and 10 assists, and Lauren Sauley also had 20 digs.

• Hughesville scored four consecutive goals after being put in an early deficit as the Spartans beat Central Mountain in boys soccer, 4-2. Nick Trevouledes scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others for Hughesville. Eli Edkin and Maddox Leitenberger also scored for the Spartans. Grant Cole and Nate Brinker scored for Central Mountain.

Jersey Shore beat Warrior Run, 3-2. Breck Miller, Nick Bellomo and Ross Fuller all scored for the Bulldogs. Brendon Geiger and Alex Hazzoum both had goals for the Defenders.

Williamsport blanked Montoursville, 5-0, in a game under the lights. Hemberth Pena-Vasquez scored twice for the Millionaires and Angelo Casas, Thomas Harper and Logan Hall all added a goal. The Millionaires built a 3-0 lead by halftime.

• Wellsboro defeated Athens, 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-19), in volleyball. Bre Kemp led the Green Hornets in both assists (12) and points (20). Kathryn Burnett had 23 digs.
