A former assistant coach at Lycoming College, Brendan Gorman will return to the Warriors as the men’s lacrosse program’s seventh coach, Director of Athletic Mike Clark announced Monday.
Gorman served as an assistant coach with the Warriors in 2005 under Mike Talerico in his second year of coaching before making stops as an assistant coach at RIT and coach at Babson College and Elmira College.
He takes over for Chris Scanlon, who led the Warriors for seven seasons and took the team to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game in 2019. He resigned to pursue an opportunity outside coaching.
• Josh Burger scored 18, Dillon Young added 14 and Montoursville defeated St. Joseph’s on the road in boys basketball, 58-42. Landon Reeder scored 13.
Wyalusing beat North Penn-Mansfield, 64-59. Karson Dominick scored 20 for Mansfield and Alexis Stein added 17.
Cam Michaels scored 13 points and Jacob Hernandez added 10, but it wasn’t enough as Lewisburg fell to Central Columbia, 61-36. The Blue Jays outscored Lewisburg in the third quarter, 23-7.
• Cowanesque Valley edged Williamson in girls basketball in overtime, 47-42. Taylor Rae Jones scored 25 for Williamson.
Lewisburg played well defensively in a 37-15 win against Muncy, holding the Indians to 5 or fewer points each quarter. Roz Noone led the Green Dragons with a 10-point performance.
