By From staff reports 2 min read

For the fourth straight semester, the Lycoming College men's and women's swim teams have earned Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American Team honors, the organization announced.

The women's swim team earned the accolades for the 14th straight semester, a streak dating back to the spring semester of 2014.

The women's program was one of eight teams from the Middle Atlantic Conference selected, along with Hood, King's (Pa.), Messiah, Misericordia, Stevenson, Wilkes and York.

The men's team earned the award for the 12th time in program history and for a record fourth straight semester. The team was one of six from the MAC selected, along with Hood, King's, Misericordia, Stevenson and York.

Even amidst the turbulence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lycoming was one of more than 450 schools to receive the award for the fall 2020 semester. To be chosen as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher in the semester.

The Lock Haven University lacrosse team was picked to finish fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released earlier today.

Mercyhurst received five-first place votes and was picked by the coaches as the favorite in the West. Seton Hill and IUP received one first place vote a piece and checked in at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Lock Haven slid right in behind them at No. 4 after a 1-0 start to conference play a year ago.

In the Eastern division, nationally-ranked West Chester was selected as the team to beat, while No. 8 ranked East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg rounded out the top 3.

The LHU lacrosse team is scheduled to begin their campaign on Saturday, March 17, in the first of six scheduled home games. Lock Haven will only play other PSAC Western division opponents this year during the regular season and each team will play both a home-and-away game against each divisional opponent. The season will culminate with the currently scheduled May 4 start of the PSAC Championship tournament. The winner of the PSAC tournament will advance to the NCAA tournament in mid-May.
