Executive Education notes: The Raptors have won three straight District 11 championships, but the last three were at the AA level. Executive cruised past Dock Mennonite in the first round Wednesday, winning a state tournament game for a third straight year. Muniz scored 18 points, grabbed rebounds and dealt 3 assists, while Magee had 17 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Bembry added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Executive has a potent blend of speed and size with Muniz and Bembry being 6-5 and Magee 6-4. Mustapha Sanoh is a 6-10 sophomore and averages 5 points off the bench. The Raptors have won 10 straight games and the arrival of Bembry, an excellent point guard, made an already strong team even more explosive. Having four players averaging more than 13 points per game make it hard for opponents slowing down Executive. Mennonite contained Muniz for long spurts but Bembry and Magee sparked a game-breaking second-quarter run. Muniz has scored 1,488 career points.
Loyalsock road to Elite 8: In District 4, beat Warrior Run, 78-45; Mount Carmel, 72-60 and Central Columbia, 59-45.

Loyalsock notes: The Lancers are making their second straight state quarterfinal appearance and their fifth since 2013. Loyalsock defeated Notre Dame-Green Pond and Camp Hill in last year's state tournament before COVID ended the season there. Loyalsock did not play its best games in victories against Mount Carmel and Central Columbia, but turned up the defense at critical times and pulled away in the fourth quarter each game. The Lancers were the only team to beat Central, sweeping three games, and have won three straight district championships. Seven players have produced double-digit performances this season and Saraj Ali has 13 double-doubles in 16 games. Idris Ali scored 24 points against Mount Carmel and Julian Wilson has 21 rebounds in his last two games. Guards Eli Gair and Dom Jennings helped fuel the district championship win with Gair heating up during key first and third-quarter runs and Jennings making four steals. Loyalsock is trying to reach the Final 4 for the first time since 2015 and is 49-2 over the last two seasons.
