Senior Erica Lutz moved into a tie for fourth in the Lycoming College women's basketball team's history with her 24th career double-double, but a run of 17 straight points from undefeated DeSales to start the game helped it to an 89-51 MAC Freedom win Friday.
Lutz finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors (2-2 overall), as she tied Shelby Mueller (2014-18) with 24 career double-doubles, reaching the mark in just 81 games.
Junior Allison Wagner added 10 points and four assists and sophomore Emily Zoscin added eight points, three rebounds and three assists.
• The Lock Haven University softball team dropped a pair of hard-fought games at Kutztown, 3-0 and 5-1. Delaney Good was 2 for 2. In game two, LHU pitcher Madison Waltman, a Warrior Run grad, went 5 1/3 innings, scattering four hits in a solid effort.
• The Lock Haven University baseball team opened the 2021 season in dramatic fashion as the Bald Eagles secured a thrilling walk-off win in game one of a doubleheader with Kutztown University. Lock Haven won game one, 3-2, but dropped game two, 8-6.
Reagan Lawlor provided the offensive fireworks in game one and his seventh-inning single drove in the game-winning run. Isaac Porter, a Central Mountain grad, was credited with two RBIs in the win.
