Bucktail’s Green grabs her 500th career rebound in loss to Benton

By From staff reports 2 min read

Bucktail is off until Tuesday due to the KCSD's five-day remote learning, but the Bucks did manage to get a game just before the pause occurred. Bucktail lost in heart-breaking fashion to Benton. With just seconds left, Benton went the length of the floor to drop in a buzzer-beating lay-up, giving the Tigers a 34-32 win.

Bucktail senior Julie Green did grab what was her 500th career rebound during the game, something coach Carl Gentzyel said was a hard-earned accomplishment.

"Julie missed most of her freshman year due to an injury and then had a shortened year last season due to Covid scheduling, so she hit 500 boards and has definitely lost some game time through the years, this was well earned" Gentzyel said. "This was one was a tough loss for sure."

Bucktail is now 5-6.

The Bucks received a team-high 11 from Mackenzie Wagner. Raileigh Isaacs added seven points and Green scored six.
