Local roundup: Saraj Ali scores 20 as Loyalsock boys defeat Central Columbia

Five players reached double figures and Loyalsock built a 34-point halftime lead as it went on the road and routed Central Columbia, 79-33 in a rematch of the last two District 4 Class AAA championships. Saraj Ali led the way with 20 points and seven assists. Nate Bauman (14), Gage Patterson (12), Brendan Clark (10) and Jaylen Andrews (10) also reached double digits as Loyalsock (8-3) won its fourth straight game.

Mason Sheesley led Warrior Run with a team-high 25 points in a 68-60 loss to Line Mountain. Sheesley made six shots from beyond the arc throughout the night. Riley Young dominated the hardwood with a game-high 37 points for Line Mountain.

Lewisburg defeated Millville, 69-36, thanks to an 18-point performance by Jake Hernandez. In total, the Green Dragons saw 12 players score.

Lewisburg held a 10-point lead after the first quarter and outscored Millville in the second quarter, 28-12.

• In girls basketball, Towanda defeated North Penn-Liberty, 48-16, as Porschia Bennett scored 26 points for Towanda. North Penn Liberty was led by Elizabeth Ritchie’s nine points.

• Lewisburg fell to Bloomsburg, 97-60, in girls swimming. Valeria Riley swam a 6:23.10 in the 500 free to win the event by 19 seconds. Lewisburg’s Emma Gerlinski picked up a win in the 200 IM in 1:53.27.

In boys swimming, Lewisburg defeated Bloomsburg, 65-61. Mason Ordonez picked up a win in the 200 free in 1:53.27 and placed second in the 100 free in 59.86. Kieran Davis won the 100 breast for Lewisburg and Lewisburg’s Miles Fassero won the 100 fly in 1:06.73.

• Bucknell men’s basketball dropped a home matchup to Lehigh, 97-64. Andre Screen had a team-high 17 points, shooting 6-13 in field goals while he went 5-6 at the line. Keith Higgins Jr. posted a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Lehigh over the Bison.
