STATE COLLEGE -- Dwight Galt, Penn State's assistant athletic director of performance enhancement and strength and conditioning coach, is retiring.
Galt has been a confidant to James Franklin for many years, including his entire eight-year tenure at Penn State and prior three at Vanderbilt.
The two also worked together at Maryland for eight years.
Franklin wished him well on Twitter and called Galt "a keystone member of our staff and my right-hand man."
Galt's departure marks the fourth change on the football staff since the season ended.
Brent Pry left to become head coach at Virginia Tech (replaced by Manny Diaz), special teams coach Joe Lorig went to Oregon (replaced by Stacy Collins) and director of football operations Michael Hazel joined Pry at Tech.
