Kaden Milheim becomes first state wrestling semifinalist for Warrior Run since 2009

HERSHEY -- Kaden and Cameron Milheim have been putting Warrior Run back on the map.
The brothers have been rolling through the postseason and swept the first day of the PIAA Class AA wrestling tournament.
As a junior, Kaden is in the midst of his first trip to Hershey after taking fourth at regionals last season. Cameron, a freshman, is already wrestling on the big stage.
"I came up short my freshman and sophomore years. For him coming here with me as a freshman, and us having a chance for him to lock in a medal, it's great," Kaden said.
Kaden drew a scoreless first period against Penn Cambria's Trent Hoover in the quarterfinals. An escape and takedown put Kaden on the board in the second frame.
After taking a cautious approach through the opening two minutes, Kaden began to pull away from Hoover.
"I kind of felt him out on my feet and fired some attacks out there, not risking too much," Kaden said. "But once I secured that five-point lead, then a six-point lead, I felt a lot more confident continuing the third period of the match."
Upon one last nearfall to close out the second frame, Kaden bookended the bout with another scoreless draw, finishing with a 6-0 decision.

The win guarantees a top-six finish and a place on the podium. Kaden is now Warrior Run's first state semifinalist since Tyler Hain in 2009.
"It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders tonight knowing I got that spot," Kaden said. "Now I just have to keep climbing the podium, wrestling like I have been in the tournament and the whole season."
Cameron was bumped to the consolation round after a 3-1 decision in favor of Central Valley's Ambrose Boni.
It didn't take long for Cameron to make a rebound, taking a decisive 9-2 win over Grove City's Cody Hamilton to keep his season going. In the second-round consolation, Cameron piled on four takedowns -- two in the last period -- to balloon his lead all throughout.

With Kaden ranked No. 2 in the state and Cameron third, the duo is giving small-town Warrior Run a big presence in Hershey.
"It feels great knowing that'll be a part of Warrior Run's legacy," Kaden said.
