Three second-half goals helped lift the Williamsport City Lions to its first historic win over Allentown United, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon in a UPSL Division 1 contest.
Allentown United took the lead after 14 minutes when Benjamin Hajduk finished off the post and into the back of the net in the 14th minute. The Lions took no time to respond when the Allentown United Defender pulled down City Lions winger Tevin Beadle to award the lions a penalty, which was converted by Williamsport graduate Kolachi Pombor in the 17th minute.
Second half was off to a roaring start when Sean Barrant used a fine headed finish, from a Pombor assist on a corner in the 52nd minute.
The Lions doubled their lead when an Owen Magee pass found the foot of Wellsboro graduate Gabe Leach, with his 30 yard strike finding its way into the back of the net, just beyond the outstretched arms of the Allentown United goalkeeper in the 62nd minute.
The City Lion's Colton Miller, a Jersey Shore graduate, put an exclamation point on the evening, when he reacted first to a vicious free kick from Jamison Bohner, which was saved by the Allentown United goalkeeper in the 90th minute.
