Three local graduates competed in the championship flight at the 92nd annual Williamsport Country Club Invitational as Montoursville graduate Peyton Mussina and teammate Grant Gronka beat Loyalsock graduate Zach Prowant and Montgomery graduate Kyle Deisher to win the title this past weekend.
In the Beaten Eight's championship flight matchup, Ben Cook and John Zurich beat Michael Hunter and Sean Kopeicheck.
Mussina and Gronka advanced to the final with a victory over Danville graduate Austin Renz and Shikellamy graduate CJ Tyler. In the other semifinal, Deisher and Prowant beat Alan Kline and Deron Zendt.
Gronka and Mussina beat Devin McLaughlin and Sam Stewart in the quarterfinals, 2 and 1, and advanced out of the first round with a 6 and 5 win against Larry Allison and Ed Schneider.
Prowant and Deisher beat John Zurich and Ben Cook in the first round, 4 and 3, before posting a 4 and 2 win against Bryant Dunn and Andrew Hill in the quarterfinals.
In the first flight, Robbie Seebold and Troy Beaver took first place against Ryan and Shawn Felty. JR Cattoni and Trent Miller won the Beaten Eight's bracket against Curtis Route and Evan Perry.
In the second flight, Michael Richardson and Jacob Sekel took first place over Brent Terry and Mark Stoffel. In the Beaten Eights, Loyalsock graduates Brock Davis and Kory Datres combined to win, besting Paul and Ron Defeo, who took second.
In the third flight, Greg Wheeland and Joe Collini took first place over Steve Macensky and Larry Moon. In the Beaten Eight's bracket, Jim Sargent and Al McCormick. David Briggs and David Miller finished second.
David Pfleegor Jr. and Andrew Smalley took first in the fourth flight by defeating Jesse Lindsay and Tyson Weihermuller. Thomas Price and Tom Quinn won the Beaten Eight's division by besting Bill Kinley and Chris Coleman.
Matthew Sears and Colby Sears won the fifth flight title by beating Brent Fish and Jim Cowan. In the Beaten Eight's division, Marty Bell and Rob Gleyze beat out Patrick Little and Brodie Harris.
