Montoursville defeated Midd-West, 2-0, as Wyatt Fry came up big for the Warriors with both goals. Both goals came in the first half, the second of which was thanks to a penalty kick.
Hughesville edged Loyalsock in a tough game, 2-1. After Loyalsock’s Jacob Edmonds put the Lancers ahead in the second half, Josh Heiney scored twice to give Hughesville an exciting win.
Heiney’s go-ahead goal came via penalty kick with 2 minutes, 43 seconds to play.
Seth Yoder and Evan Yoder both scored for Milton as the Black Panthers held off Williamsport, 2-1. The Millionaires’ Conner Poole scored with just under eight minutes to play to cut the deficit to one.
Ethan Rhodes and Dominic Ballo added assists for Milton.
Lewisburg defeated Selinsgrove, 4-1, as Reese Dieffenderfer scored twice. The Green Dragons also received goals from Zak Kreisher and Matt Reish as Alfred Romano had three assists.
North Penn-Liberty defeated Northern Potter, 5-1. Brady Stetter had two goals and an assist and Zack Wilcox added a goal for Liberty in the win.
• Piper Minier scored twice and Aleigha Rieppel added a goal as South Williamsport blanked Benton, 3-0, in girls soccer on Thursday afternoon.
Maddy Breen and Ella Moore both had assists for the Mounties.
Tierney Patterson recorded 29 saves, but North Penn-Mansfield fell to Troy, 6-0. The Tigers were held to four shots on goal.
Maddy Mascho scored with 73 seconds remaining, but Wellsboro fell to Wyalusing, 2-1. Wyalusing took a 1-0 lead into the half and scored with 16:34 to play in the game to make it a 2-0 lead.
Annie Gehman recorded 12 saves for the Green Hornets.
• Montoursville defeated Mifflinburg in a doubleheader in girls tennis, 5-0 and 5-0. Montoursville’s Kara Mann came up with two straight-set, 6-0, 6-0 wins against Reyna Kirick at No. 1 singles.
At No. 2 singles, Erin Dekjanovan defeated Morgan Traver and Randi McKenna defeated Kaylee Swartzlander. Both of Deljanovan’s wins were 6-0, 6-0 as well.
The wins improve the Warriors to 11-3.
Bucktail beat Montgomery, 4-1. Kayla Probert won at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-1 and Alexis Lowery earned a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Bella English won at No. 3 singles.
Montgomery's lone victory came at No. 2 doubles where Summer Drick and Madison Budman beat Kendall Wagner and Kori Prebble, 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.
Jersey Shore remained undefeated by defeating Danville, 4-1, to move to 14-0. Peyton Dincher won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs against Sarah Bhanushali.
In doubles competition, it was Anna Lanks and Jaymison Stellfox who picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles over Hazel Gatski and Alaina Soza.
• Williamsport’s girls volleyball team came up shy on the road at Altoona, losing 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-9). Elise Berthold had 11 points and 10 digs, Haylee Bennett had 10 digs an five points, Lili Cox had seven points, Belle Morrow had nine assists and three kills and Aubrey Glosser had four kills.
North Penn-Liberty defeated Corning-Painted Post, 3-2 (23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 15-12) thanks to rallying from an 0-2 deficit to win three straight matches. Saige Lehman had 29 digs and 16 kills, Payton Chapel had 15 digs and 10 kills, Darby Stetter had 26 digs and 18 kills and Aubrey Pequignot had an impressive 32 assists.
Galeton beat Coudersport, 3-1 (25-16, 26-24, 24-26, 25-22). Alli Macensky recorded six kills and five aces.
The win moves Galeton to 6-3.
Johanna Dickerson had 13 assists, 11 kills, seven aces, six digs and two blocks. Eve Cole had seven kills and seven digs, and Macy Crowell had 15 digs. Addy Reigle added six digs.
• In men’s soccer, Penn College and Clarks Summit tied 1-1 with both teams scoring in the second half. The Wildcats are now 1-4-3 overall.
Clarks Summitt scored the game’s first goal in the 59th minute before Penn College tied the game in the 84th minute by Tad Schellenberger.
• Senior Elizabeth Kelson led the Lycoming College volleyball team with 11 kills and three blocks to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team, which fell to Mount Aloysius College, 3-1 (25-15, 26-28, 25-17, 25-20).
Freshman Cameron Upcraft added nine kills and two blocks and sophomore Ava Coombs added eight kills, three aces and a block. Sophomore Arianna Santos posted five kills and three blocks and sophomore Marykatelin Button posted 22 assists and eight digs. Sophomore Kendell Myers finished with 22 digs and sophomore Brynne Bisel added nine.
