Conner Harer scored 22 points during his bout at 152 pounds en route to a 22-6, 4:00 tech fall win over South’s Sam Persun to help Montgomery’s wrestling team top South Williamsport, 47-32, on Tuesday night.
Conner’s younger brother Brandt Harer earned a pin at 2:51 at 132 over South’s Jackson Swinehart.
South Williamsport’s Ryan Casella needed just 15 seconds for a pin at 285 over Layne Gingery. Montgomery’s John Shrimp won by decision, 5-3, at 120 against South’s Kaden Shay.
Wellsboro cruised past Sayre, 51-12. Wellsboro’s Jacob Dean earned a fall in 60 seconds at 152 pounds over Aiden Black and Aden Tom pinned Marcos Quiros at 138 in 1:59.
Alec Magli of Wellsboro had an 11-4 decision win over Layla Bennett at 113.
• Lewisburg held a 14-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back, easily defeating Lourdes on the road in boys basketball, 57-30.
A trio of Green Dragons added 10 points each in Jack Blough, Henry Harrison and Cam Michaels. Devin Bodden added nine as 10 Lewisburg players scored. At halftime, Lewisburg was ahead, 38-14.
Mifflinburg edged Milton in an overtime thriller, 54-52. The Black Panthers outscored Mifflinburg 15-8 in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Xzavier Minium led Milton with a 15-point performance and Nijel Hunter scored 13. Milton also received eight from Luke DeLong.
• South Williamsport started strong and never looked back as it defeated Hughesville, 44-29 in its home opener. The Mounties (1-1) scored 21 first quarter points and built a 31-8 halftime lead. South surrendered just 10 field goals and had balanced scoring.
Lacey Kriebel scored a game-high 12 points and hit three first-half 3-pointers. Piper Minier added 11 points, Aleigha Rieppel eight and Alizabeth Schuler six. Breanna Bobak scored 11 points for Hughesville and Ava Snyder added seven.
Wellsboro defeated North Penn-Mansfield, 45-31, in a game sparked by Chloe Brandenburg’s 23 points. Of her 23 points, 16 came by halftime. Wellsboro also received 13 from Paige Logsdon.
North Penn-Mansfield was led by Addison Farrer’s 15 points and Ella Swingle’s nine.
Athens defeated Cowanesque Valley, 54-23. The Indians were led by Paisley Nudd’s 10 points and Ella Churchill’s eight. Cowanesque was held scoreless in the second quarter as Athens pulled away.
