Inaugural Mid-Penn tourney this week

The inaugural Mid-Penn Wrestling League Championship bracket was set and finalized for Wednesday's event at Benton Elementary School. The first round will go off at 5 p.m. followed by the semifinals at 6:30 p.m.

The finals are scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.

Benton is the top seed in the field and receives a bye into the semifinals.

South Williamsport, seeded fourth, wrestles against Sugar Valley, seeded fifth. Third-seeded Muncy will wrestle against CMVT and second-seeded Montgomery will face seventh-seeded Sullivan County.

Benton will face the South Williamsport/Sugar Valley winner in the semifinals. On the bottom half of the bracket, the Muncy/CMVT winner faces the Sullivan/Montgomery winner in the semifinals.
