In high school wrestling on Thursday, Wellsboro edged Loyalsock, 42-22. Loyalsock’s Brayden Gifford earned a fall in 68 seconds against Alysa Chilson at 127 pounds.
At 285, Carter Secora needed just 11 seconds to pin Dominick Starkweather. Loyalsock’s Braden Vincenzes had a 8-0 major decision win over Jacob Dean at 152.
• Central Mountain’s girls swimming team fell to Danville in a close contest, 74-72, on Thursday at Lock Haven. Camryn Bair won the 200 free and 100 back and Abrianna Hosley picked up a win in the 200 IM.
The Wildcats’ also received two wins from Ana Persun (100 fly and 100 breast) and a 100 free win from Autumn Garman. Bair, Hosley, Garman and Persun won the 200 free as the Wildcats’ record is 5-3.
The boys team fell to the Ironmen, 81-66. Neil Kuzny (200 free, 100 back) and Jonathan Hughes (100 breast) earned individual wins for the Wildcats. The boys’ 400 free relay team of Owen Wunder, Rhys Swift, Kaluzny and Hughes won as well.
Central Mountain travels to Jersey Shore for a dual on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
• North Penn-Liberty fell at home to Northeast Bradford, 63-31. Kayleigh Thoman had 25 points for Northeast Bradford. Liberty had one player in double digits in Elizabeth Ritchie, who scored 11. Sidney Landis added nine.
