In the 100 free preliminaries, junior Cathryn Brought, a Wellsboro graduate, broke an 18-year-old school record with a 54.27 before breaking her own record 10 hours later in the event finals by going two-tenths of a second faster to take fourth and highlight the Lycoming College swimming teams' final day at the MAC Championships on Sunday.

Brought's preliminary time broke Julia Harahush's 2005 time of 54.39 and then she broke her own record in the event finals with a 54.07. She was joined by teammate senior Katherine Brown in the finals, as Brown placed fifth with the second-best time in program history at 54.24. The women finished ninth in the standings with 405.5 points and the men placed 10th with 311 team points.

In the 1650-yard freestyle, freshman Augustus Wood placed in the top 20, taking 17th with a 19:57.36. Brown, Brought, Wood, and DiNicola joined forces in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking a final time of 3:47.11 to take eighth place.

On the men's side, junior C.J. Zortman finished with a 2:08.07 for 18th in the 200-yard breaststroke. Senior Will Marcinkowski swam a 2:20.08 in the 200-yard breaststroke to take 19th with teammate junior Eliot Keith coming in 23rd after swimming a 2:25.87.

• Alana Robinson of the Lock Haven University women's basketball team picked up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week award, earning her second on the season.

Robinson had a milestone week on the defensive side as Lock Haven posted a 2-1 record on the week, defeating Mansfield and Kutztown, while losing a close road game at Millersville. With a block in the game versus Mansfield, the defensive star broke the school's all-time single season record for blocks, and now sits at 50.

The freshman finished the week with 16 defensive rebounds, five steals, and four blocks. With her presence this week, Mansfield only shot 24.1% on the game and 6.3% from the arc, and the Golden Bears shot just 34.5% from the field and 22.7% from the arc.

Robinson and the Bald Eagles are back in action on the road against West Chester on Saturday, February 18th with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m.

• For the second time this season, Ryan Miller of the Lock Haven men's indoor track and field team picked up Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week after his record-breaking weekend.

Competing among an elite field at the prestigious David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University, Miller continued to impress and make history for the Bald Eagles. He bolted to an indoor school record in the 400-meter dash with a historic performance.

Miller was ninth (*top D2 finisher) of 246 total runners, but most impressive was his time of 47.85. Already the conference leader in the event, the PSAC championship qualifying mark broke the LHU school record and stands as an NCAA Division II championship qualifying standard.

Miller broke a 13-year old school record and became the first LHU runner to ever break 48 seconds indoors at 400 meters. His time ranks him 13th among all of Division II.

Miller and the Bald Eagles get back on the track this weekend as The Haven heads to both the Susquehanna and Penn State Tune-Ups.
