Golf tip of the week: The three most asked questions in golf

PHOTO PROVIDED Allow the arms to hang from the shoulders

How far should you stand from the ball?

The hands hang down at the address position. That applies to all clubs; the club length determines the distance you stand from the ball. Never stretch your arms out; the hands should be at their lowest point.

Where should you play the ball in your stance?

From the wedges through the five iron, play the ball in the center of your stance, in line with your belt buckle. From the four iron through the driver, play the ball off your left heel, or right heel for left-handed golfer.

How wide should your stance be?

With the longer clubs, such as; the driver and the three wood, the outside of the shoulders should be even with the outside of your feet. For all the other clubs, the shoulders should be to the inside of the feet. These approximate positions can be adjusted somewhat, except the hands should always hang down, as shown in the photo.
