More honors came in for Lycoming College football senior Ian Plankenhorn for his performance at Keystone College, as he was named to D3football.com's Team of the Week.
The Montoursville graduate paced the team with 10 points in its 34-7 win over Keystone to earn a spot on the D3football.com's Team of the Week as a kicker, as he canned all four extra points and connected with a 36-yard field goal to give Lycoming a 10-7 halftime lead and a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter.
The pair of field goals gives Plankenhorn 24 in his career, tied for fourth-most in program history with Jamie Fisher (2016-18) and Lance Spitler (1980-83).
The two-time D3football.com All-Region selection is second in the Landmark Conference with six field goals this year and he is 12th in Division III with a .857 field goal percentage (6 of 7).
He also punted five times for an average of 39.2 yards per kick against the Giants, placing one inside the 10-yard line, and he also averaged 61 yards per kickoff on seven attempts.
Plankenhorn also earned D3football.com Team of the Week honors on Nov. 2, 2021, after he hit three field goals in a 30-27 win over Wilkes.
In addiitiont to the D3football.com Team of the Week honors, Plankenhorn received Landmark Conference Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors as well.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28, when they host Juniata College at 1 p.m.
