South’s Ella Moore earns all-state; numerous area players named to Mid-Penn all-stars
Trending
After an outstanding freshman season in which she broke the South Williamsport record for goals by a freshman, Ella Moore followed it up as a sophomore with a great season which is still continuing.
Moore, a sophomore, leads the area with 33 goals scored and is a threat every time she's on the field. That's a large reason why Moore was named all-state this year through the Mid-Penn League.
The Mid-Penn announced their girls soccer all-stars for this year, and Moore earned the all-state nod.
Moore was also a first-team forward, joined by Muncy's Addi Eyer and Ava Eyer, and Millvillle's Brianna Kolk.
Mid-Penn midfielders were Muncy's Emilie Nagel, South Williamsport's Abby Akers, Millville's Larissa Evans and Benton's Amber Hughes. Mid-Penn defenders were South Williamsport's Olivia Regan, Muncy's Emma McCormick, Sullivan County's Adeleyn Zelewicz and Benton's Riley Heller.
Muncy standout goalie Addi Gresh earned Mid-Penn goalie honors. CMVT’s Candice Sheatler was named Mid-Penn Coach of the Year.
On the boys side in the Mid-Penn, Benton took both all-state honors (Max Kocher) and Coach of the Year honors (Harry Schlichter). The area was well represented, however, throughout the team.
Montgomery senior Owen Sherman, who recorded his 50th career goal this year, has scored 29 this season so far and was a Mid-Penn forward all-star selection. South Williamsport's Logan Harris, Millville's Evan Brokenshire and Benton's Max Kocher were also Mid-Penn forwards.
Montgomery's Aidan Bitler was a Mid-Penn midfielder. He was joined on the all-star team by South Williamsport's Kayvan Shams, Millville's Gavin Birkett and Benton's Dalton Koch.
Muncy's Logan Ohl and South Williamsport's Evan Ogden were Mid-Penn defenders, joined by Benton's duo of Bryce Getz and Landon Kerster. Millville's Thomas Kraintz was named Mid-Penn goalie.
