After game-altering performances in the Lycoming College football team's 31-20 win over Moravian University, seniors Johnny Day and Ian Plankenhorn, a Montoursville graduate, secured the Landmark Conference's Defensive and Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors, respectively.

Day earned his first career Athlete of the Week recognition after posting six tackles, two sacks, a breakup and a quarterback hurry against the Greyhounds. He had a quarterback hurry to end a first-quarter drive. In the fourth quarter, he helped pace the stabilize the defense as Lycoming came back from a 10-point third-quarter deficit, as he got his first career sack on 3-and-8 at the Moravian 20, setting up Lycoming's go-ahead drive midway through the quarter. He added his second sack on 3-and-4 at the Moravian 22 with just over three minutes remaining, killing another Greyhounds drive, and for good measure, he had a breakup on the second to last play of the game to ice the win.

Plankenhorn was effective all day in his role as kicker and punter for the Warriors, as he hit all four extra points and became the fourth player in program history to reach 25 career field goals when he hit a 35-yarder in the first quarter. On kickoffs and punts, he set up Moravian with an average field position of the 24-yard line on drive starts while Lycoming started on average at its 33. He launched seven punts on the day, averaging 37 yards and downing one inside the 10 and averaged 58.2 yards on six kickoffs.

Plankenhorn has now won a conference's special team's player of the week honors four times in his career, as he also earned the MAC Special Teams honor twice in 2021.
