Lycoming women’s soccer has five named to CSC Academic All-District team

Lycoming College senior Taylor Snyder (a Milton graduate), junior Madison Maihle (a Jersey Shore graduate) and sophomores Natalie Bates, Abigail Umhoefer and Aubrey Williamson were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s Soccer team.

Eligible student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets.

Snyder earned her second academic all-district honors after starting 17 games and starting 15 on defense. She scored a goal against Goucher.

Maihle also picked up her second academic all-district honors after the junior defender appeared in 17 games and started 15. She helped the defense post six shutouts along with Snyder.

Bates appeared in 17 games and started 10, posting two goals and two assists as a midfielder, as she scored game-winning goals against Marymount (Va.) and Elmira.

Williamson appeared in 16 games and started 14 as an outside midfielder, as the sophomore finished second on the team with three goals and nine assists, which was the third-most in the Landmark Conference.

Umhoefer appeared in 17 games and started 11 as a forward, as she posted three goals and an assist for the team, including notching a goal and an assist against Penn State-Altoona.

The 2023 Academic All-District Men's and Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women).

The Warriors finished 6-5-6 under seventh-year coach Kenny Fern, who has led the team to four straight winning seasons, a program-first.
