1. Jersey Shore (10-0-1): Despite not becoming a full-time starter in the backfield until this season, as well as missing two games, Tate Sechrist already has cracked the 30 touchdown milestone. Sechrist has run for nearly 2,000 yards and 32 touchdowns while continuing to play at an all-state level at defensive end.
2. Muncy (9-1): As impressive as Muncy going 9-1 despite losing three excellent starters along the offensive line is how it has done so. The Indians have continued playing the kind of football which has defined it during this outstanding eight-year run and three running backs have gained more than 600 yards.
3. Canton (8-2): A bye into the semifinals might have been just what the two-time defending champions needed after taking some costly injuries down the stretch. Playing two strong opponents in the final two weeks helped Canton a lot during last year's playoffs and now we will see if history repeats itself.
4. South Williamsport (8-2): Second chances don't come around a lot, but South has two of them tonight. It has a shot to erase both the sting of a heartbreaking regular season loss against Canton as well as last year's district semfinal loss at Miller A. Moyer Stadium.
5. Loyalsock (8-3): Quarterback Tyler Gee has secured some bragging rights on cousin Kyle Datres after breaking his program record for career total yards. Gee has 8,367 total yards and Datres finished with 8,093. Both players have been multi-time all-state selections and Datres holds a 104-100 total touchdown advantage entering tonight's game.
6. Milton (9-2): MVP--Peyton Rearick: This was a tough call with players like Hunter Zettlemoyer and Gary Verdinelli anchoring Milton up front and Cale Bastian, Monty Fisher and Chris Doyle all having big seasons. Rearick gets the call after excelling in all three facets. One of the district's top safeties, Rearick intercepted 10 passes the past two seasons, was second on the team in receiving and ran for two touchdowns.
7. Lewisburg (6-5): Coach Eric Wicks has helped his team made massive strides throughout the season in each of his three years on the job. Instead of breaking up, his teams pull together when times grow tough and that is a good quality to have going into tonight's game at Danville.
8. Warrior Run (6-5): Ryan Newton joined an exclusive club last Friday, becoming just the eighth area quarterback of the 2000s to top 5,000 career passing yards. Newton joins Glenn Smith as the only 5,000 yard passers in program history, has gone over 1,000 in three consecutive seasons and has 45 touchdown passes.
9. Williamsport (5-6): MVP--Caleb Williamson: This was close with Nariq Burks and Alonzo Rice also having strong cases, but Williamson produced one of the best passing seasons in program history, finishing with 1,891 yards and 18 touchdowns. Only all-staters Isaiah Hankins and Joe Fagnano have thrown for more yards in a season. Williamson also finished second among area passing yards leaders.
10. Montoursville (3-7): MVP--Cole Yonkin: A force on both sides of the ball, Yonkin often imposed his will and spent a lot of his time on defense, making plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. The senior leader collected a team-high six sacks, led the team in tackles, an impressive achievement for a lineman, and made 12 tackles for loss.
11. Hughesville (3-8): MVP--Aiden Barlett: Hughesville's Mr. Everything, Barlett broke the program record for receptions (96) led the team in receiving, caught nine touchdowns and ran for two more, while also returning a punt for a touchdown. The senior captain also intercepted two passes, averaged seven tackles per game and averaged more than 25 yards on both kick and punt returns.
12. Cowanesque Valley (5-5): MVP--Fletcher Good: Another player who literally did just about everything, Good became just the third area player of the 2000s to go over 1,000 career rushing and receiving yards. The junior running back topped 1,000 yards rushing, finished among the area's top 10 in receiving yards and totaled 1,803 yards with 17 touchdowns. Good also intercepted five passes.
13. Central Mountain (3-8): MVP--Connor Foltz: This was a photo finish between Foltz and 1,000-yard rusher Rocco Serafini. Foltz broke program records for receiving yards and catches and his 129 career receptions are fifth on the area's leaderboard during the 2000s. Foltz also excelled in the secondary and on special teams. The senior intercepted five passes, returning one for a touchdown and also took two kickoffs back for scores.
14. Bucktail (5-5): MVP--Brody Pentz: Only having an off week in Week 10 likely cost the junior quarterback the area rushing title. Still, Pentz had quite a year, running for 1,366 yards and totaling 2,016 yards with 23 touchdowns. Pentz twice topped 250 yards rushing in a game as well. Braylon Fantaski gets an honorable mention after finishing his high school career with 2,485 total yards and 27 touchdowns, going over both 1,000 rushing and receiving career yards.
15. North Penn-Mansfield (4-7): MVP--Karson Dominick: The senior quarterback helped a young team again reach districts and threw a touchdown pass in all but one game, finishing with 1,286 yards and a career-high 16 touchdowns. Dominick closes his scholastic career with 3,663 yards and also was good in the secondary, intercepting five passes the last two years.
16. Wellsboro (2-8): MVP--Hayes Campbell: The team's only senior, Campbell did all he could to help the young team excel and the Hornets started 2-2 before injuries started derailing them. Campbell was among the area's top 10 in catches throughout the season, hauling in 32 for 510 yards. Also a talented linebacker, Campbell finished second on the team with 73 tackles. Workhorse running back/linebacker Ryder Bowen finishes a close second.
17. Montgomery (1-9): MVP--Coy Bryson: One of many returning starters last year, Bryson had what could be considered a good season in just the final two weeks. The junior running back ran for 618 yards in those contests, finished with 1,107 and also topped 100 tackles, closing with 103. Bryson had one of the best rushing days in area history when he ran for 401 yards and three touchdowns in the season finale at CMVT. He also led the team in tackles with 103 and made 11 tackles for loss.
