Talk about consistency. Last week Karla Anderson took female bowler of the week honors with a 799 series in the Pat Grimes Memorial League by sandwiching a 265 game between a pair of 267 games, all of which games outpaced all the other ladies for best female game of the week.
Honorable mention goes to Rebekah Reamsnyder who rolled 737 to lead the Thursday Night Men's League. Greg Gdula nailed down male bowler of the week honors with a 780 series in the Intercommunity League. The Monday Night Classic League saw Mike Pepperman fire a 300 game, nosing out Shawn Pepperman's 299 in the Saturday Night Moonlighter League and Greg Vonada's 298 in the Pat Grimes Memorial for best male game of the week.

This week we remember 1989 local Hall of Fame inductee Al Wilson. Wilson bowled in as many as six leagues a week during his 35-year career which ended in the mid 1980's due to a heel injury. Averaging as high as 205 before 1967 when the first average book was produced by the local association, Wilson recorded 25 700 series including his career high 785. His career high game was 289, which he hit at least six different times. He won the 1971 Bowler of the Year Tournament, averaging 214 for the length of the tournament. He was a member of the Five Points team which, on February 9, 1976, became the first local association team to break 3400 with a 3401 team series. Wilson participated in least 10 PSBA State Tournaments and 10 ABC National Championship Tournaments.
