Three members of the Lycoming College football team - sophomore defensive lineman Michael Sipps, offensive lineman Braedon Hart and senior linebacker Johnny Day - earned a slot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Eligible student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in 90 percent of the institution’s games, contests or sets played or have started in at least 66 percent of the games, contests or sets.
Sipps appeared in all 10 games as a linebacker and defensive lineman, posting 21 tackles and three sacks. He added a forced fumble against Cortland and a quarterback hurry.
Hart appeared in all 10 games at center, moving into a starting role late in the season. The Honorable Mention All-Landmark Conference selection balanced an offensive line that helped the Warriors rush for 128.5 yards per game and pass for 187.5 yards, good for 316.1 yards of total offense per game.
Day appeared in 10 games and recorded 36 tackles as a linebacker. He posted three sacks, including two which helped him earn Landmark Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week for his play against Moravian, and a fumble recovery, which led to a touchdown in the Cape Charles Bowl win at Washington and Lee.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 23, 2024.
The Warriors finished 5-6 overall and tied for second in the Landmark Conference with a 4-2 record under 16th-year head coach Mike Clark. The Warriors won the inaugural Cape Charles Bowl, 20-17 over Washington & Lee, in the Landmark-ODAC Chesapeake Bowl Series.
