By From staff reports 5 min read

In a game marked by shifting momentums, freshman pinch-hitter Ryan Tandelivered a two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and junior Jake Schilling tossed two scoreless innings and left the tying run stranded at third to close the door as the Lycoming College baseball team beat Hobart College, 11-10, in non-conference action.

The Warriors (1-6 overall) jumped out with five runs in the first inning and added four more in the third before the Statesman (0-2 overall) notched a nine-run sixth and one-run seventh to take a 10-9 lead. The Warriors responded in the bottom of the inning, as junior Danny DeLucas singled to lead off and freshman Eric MacCluen was hit by a pitch before a throwing error on a bunt loaded the bases. After a strikeout, Tan delivered a single into right center to give the Warriors a 11-10 lead.

Schilling allowed a hit in the eighth and a runner to reach second, but got a flyout and a groundout to end the threat. A one-out double in the ninth was left stranded at third, as Schilling induced a groundout to end the game. He allowed two hits to earn the save, as he struck out one in the last two innings.

The Warriors started rolling in the first, as Schilling doubled in sophomore Nick Reeder, a Montoursville graduate, before MacCluen drove in two with a single through the left side, setting up a two-RBI triple from sophomore Nick Hoheb.

In the third, DeLucas doubled for an RBI before Reeder drilled a bases-clearing double to left-center to drive in three to give Lycoming a 9-0 lead before Hobart mounted their comeback.

DeLucas finished 2-for-4 with three runs and a RBI and MacCluen notched two runs and two RBI to pace the Warrior offense.
