Muncy senior pitcher and Division I St. Bonaventure commit Nolah Moyer made her final trip to Farwell on Thursday afternoon and she and catcher Taylor Shannon helped Muncy go out with a bang.

Moyer threw a one-hit shutout, went 3 for 3, homered and drove in five runs as Muncy captured a second straight Mid-Penn championship, blanking Bucktail, 13-0 in five innings. Shannon had a big day, going 3 for 3, with two home runs and five RBIs as Muncy (17-0, 11-0) completed a second straight undefeated league campaign.

Moyer also went over 200 strikeouts on the season, while shutting out her 15th opponent.

Moyer put her team on the board quickly, hitting a two-run home run in the top of the first to give her team a lead that would never be contested.

Muncy pushed the lead to 3-0 when Moyer took the plate in the top of the second where she picked up a two-RBI bases loaded single.

Now up 5-0, teammate Shannon took a Makenzie Wagner pitch well over the right field fence, as the three-run home run grew the lead to 8-0 and with Moyer on the hill well out of reach. Shannon added another home run off of relief pitcher Eva Sockman as she and Moyer each finished with five RBIs apiece.

A Gianna Balchun hit in the bottom of the fifth broke up the Moyer no-hit bid, the only one recorded against the ace.

Muncy remains undefeated and will next play at home against Mifflinburg on Monday. Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry each hit doubles for the Indians with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times.

Bucktail (12-4) heads into their final week of the regular season as they prepare for Jersey Shore on Monday in Farwell.
