Lewisburg senior running back Jeremiah Davis had a monster game on Friday night in the District 4 Class AAA semifinals, rushing for 267 yards on 27 carries and scoring five rushing touchdowns as the Green Dragons pummeled Mount Carmel, 39-7.

With the win, the Dragons advance to take on state-ranked Danville next week, a 35-10 winner against Montoursville.

Two plays into the game, Davis had a 52-yard touchdown run to give Lewisburg a fast 6-0 lead. He would then score touchdowns of 2 and 14 yards in the second quarter to give Lewisburg an 18-0 lead before Mount Carmel finally scored.

“Let’s just say Jeremiah Davis has been awesome all year,” Lewisburg coach Eric Wicks told the Milton Standard Journal. “He’s had some injuries and some tough things that happened to him in life. It’s awesome to see himself excel, and the line, and all the guys on the team protect him. It’s great, because we just have this great team environment.”

Lewisburg out-gained Mount Carmel in total yards convincingly, 461-216, and had 22 first downs compared to the Red Tornadoes’ 13. Lewisburg also had 351 rushing yards as a team.

Matthew Balichick scored late in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 18-7 going into halftime, but Mount Carmel wouldn’t score the remainder of the game.
