Bre Nixon drilled five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, helping St. John Neumann win at Montoursville, 40-33. Nixon has scored 45 points over the past two games. Niyah Tutler added 15 points and the Knights (12-9) their second game in two nights. Emily George capped a strong year for Montoursville with 17 points, seven rebounds and seven steals, while Marleigh Bainbridge had 10 points and eight rebounds. Kayleigh Sheleman added 13 boards.
Paige Winters scored 10 points for Montgomery in its 59-31 loss against Millville. Larissa Evans continued her big season for Millville and scored 28 points.
Paige Logsdon scored 14 points and Chloe Brandenburg added 11 for the Wellsboro as the Green Hornets pummeled Sayre, 46-17. Sayre was held to six or fewer points in all four quarters.
• Four Lycoming College field hockey players -- junior Autumn Shahan, sophomore Loghan Shelly and freshmen Maria DeRosa and Riley Hackett -- earned 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad honors.
Shahan received the NFHCA honor for a third time this year after appearing in 12 games as a forward. She also earned a place on the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll for the third year in a row.
As a sophomore forward, Shelly started 16 of 17 games. She earned the NFHCA recognition for a second time and was a member of the 2024 Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. The forward secured goals against Drew and Keuka and posted assists in games against Lancaster Bible College and Houghton.
Hackett started two games in the 2024 season as a midfielder and forward. The freshman clocked her first career goal against Cedar Crest, which helped the Warriors to a 2-1 victory.
DeRosa appeared in two games during the 2024 season as a midfielder and halfback. She helped Lycoming's defensive efforts against Penn St.-Harrisburg and supported the Warriors to a 6-0 win against Keuka.
• The Lycoming College men’s lacrosse team is slated eighth in the Landmark Conference Coaches’ Preseason Poll.
Defending conference champions Scranton took the top spot with 79 points and seven first-place votes, while Susquehanna (68) took second ahead of Elizabethtown (65) with the other two first-place votes. Catholic (62) and Moravian (49) rounded out the top half of the poll. Drew (40), Goucher (36), Lycoming (23), Wilkes (18) and Juniata (10) make up the final five slots.
The Warriors return 14 letterwinners from a team that went 5-9 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference in 2024. Senior goalkeeper Ben Franco finished second in Division III in saves per game (17.86) and set the school's single-season (250) and career (695) saves records en route to honorable mention all-conference honors. Three of the team's top four scorers also return led by senior Joey Hoover, who posted 31 goals and eight points. Senior Sean Farrell added 12 goals and 21 assists and senior Andrew Ednie contributed 14 goals and 10 assists.
The Warriors open the season on Saturday, Feb. 22, when they host Gwynedd Mercy at 1 p.m.

Catholic (74), which had the other two first-place votes, Susquehanna (63), Moravian (56), Juniata (52) and Drew (41) round out the top six. Elizabethtown (31), Lycoming (26), Goucher (18) and Wilkes (9) complete the ranking.
The Warriors return 12 letterwinners from a team that went 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference. The team will be paced by the dynamic duo of sophomore Riley Block, the 2023 MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year, and junior Katie Maguire, the 2022 MAC Freedom Rookie of the year. Block notched 67 goals and 83 points last year and Maguire added 52 goals and 58 points, as both have entrenched themselves in the top 15 in the school's career history in both categories. Senior Alexa Baldwin has also moved into the top three in school history in career assists after setting a school-record with 53 assists in 2024.
The Warriors open the season on Wednesday when they visit Lebanon Valley at 4 p.m.
