• Senior Katie Maguire has earned the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Co-Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading the Lycoming College women’s lacrosse team with 19 points against Wilkes and Drew.
Maguire’s 19 points brought her to a total of 264 in her career, which moved her past the two-time All-Region selection Megan McIntyre (2007-10), to rank fourth in program history. Her 234 career goals also sit second in program history — one more than two-time All-American Megan Wallenhorst (2005-08).
The recognition comes after Maguire led the Warriors against Drew on Saturday, April 12, with 10 goals, which is the second-most in program and third-most in Landmark Conference history. Maguire scored two goals in the first quarter, added one in both the second and third periods and finished off with five back-to-back goals in the final period. Alongside her scoring, the senior also caused three turnovers, claimed nine draw controls and picked up three ground balls to help Lycoming’s efforts.
To begin the week, Maguire secured six goals and two assists against Wilkes on Wednesday, April 9. She scored twice in the first, second and fourth quarters.
Maguire ranks second in the Landmark for goals per game with an average of 4.31 — following only junior attacker Riley Block, who has a 4.77 average per game — and third for points per game with an average of 5.23. Maguire leads the league in ground balls per game (3.69) and draw controls per game (7.08), and she sits third in caused turnovers per game (2.00).
