LHU’s Muthler wins PSAC Championship title in decathalon

The Lock Haven men's track and field team competed on day two of the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championships. Matthew Muthler (champion), Montoursville graduate Josiah Schans and Ryan Miller all broke records.

Indoor All-American Muthler finished the decathlon in first-place with a new PSAC all-time and championship meet point total of 7,355 points. The afternoon also broke the Lock Haven program record set back in 2002. Muthler did this by winning half of the events, including the javelin throw (182-9) and the 1500-meter (4:21.14), today. Muthler finished in the top-five in every decathlon event the past two days. Muthler is now the PSAC Championship record holder in the heptathlon and decathlon for Indoor and Outdoor.

Bellomo also shined in the decathlon, placing sixth with 6,709 points, putting him third all-time in Lock Haven history. Bellomo finished second in the pole vault, achieving a height of 14 feet, 11 inches. He also finished in the top-10 in the 110 hurdles (16.46), discus (106-11), javelin (150-1) and the 1,500 (4:50.85).

Schans ran an impressive time of 14.11 in the 110-meter hurdles to make tomorrow's finals and once again broke the program record for Lock Haven, besting himself by 0.14 seconds from earlier in the season.
