Montgomery coach Chris Glenn wins 200th game as Red Raiders defeat Canton
Montgomery pounded out 20 hits and helped coach Chris Glenn join an elite club Friday afternoon.
Arianna Snyder went 4 for 5 with four RBIs; Chloe Gordner, Madisyn Miller and Cali Barnes all collected three hits and Glenn won his 200th career game as Montgomery defeated Canton, 19-15. Glenn has led Montgomery to the postseason in all seven seasons there, as well as the 2022 Class A state championship, two district crowns and three state tournaments. He also won two district titles at Jersey Shore and led Hughesville to the playoffs in his first coaching tenure.
Montgomery scored 18 runs in the first four innings, winning a slugfest and rallying after Canton taken a 9-8 second inning lead. Gordner and Miller each belted two doubles, combining for seven RBIs. Miller drove in four runs, Gordner three and Barnes was 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Jenna Houseknecht also doubled and she and Mady Dieffenderfer each had two hits. Addi Muhl added three RBIs as Montgomery finished the regular season 14-3. The Red Raiders will be the top seed in the district tournament and play either Northeast Bradford or Bucktail in the semifinals.
