Rain wipes out Williams Grove racing action
At Williams Grove Speedway another wet weekend led to the cancellation and postponing of all events, so a full schedule will be on the calendar for this week.
The USAC AMSOIL National Sprints will invade Williams Grove for the Eastern Storm coming up this Friday night, June 20. The 410 sprints will join the wingless USAC 410s.
Competing in a 30-lap main event, the USAC drivers will be racing for a $6,000 payday while the regular Williams Grove 410s run for $5,500. It will also be fan appreciation night.
From 5:30-6:15 p.m., all general admission fans will be granted free access to the frontstretch pit area to meet and greet the drivers and get autographs. F
Another victim of rain last weekend Port Royal is hoping to come back with a different kind of storm on Saturday night when the USAC Eastern Blast rolls into the borough featuring three premier divisions: the USAC National Sprint Cars, USAC Silver Crown Series, and 410 sprint cars. The highly anticipated tripleheader is presented by Bobby Rahal Toyota of Lewistown and will showcase the best of winged and non-wing sprint car racing.
