Allen, Singleton tabbed to Doak Walker Award watch list

STATE COLLEGE — Penn State senior running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton were named to the Doak Walker Award watch list. Penn State is one of 28 FBS schools with multiple running backs on the list. Penn State joins Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, UCLA and USC among Big Ten teams with two running backs on the watch list.
The Doak Walker Award, presented by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum, is annually given to the nation’s most outstanding college running back.
Allen was an All-Big Ten honorable mention running back by the media in 2024 and picked up second-team All-Big Ten Honors from coaches and third-team from media in 2023.
In his Nittany Lion career, he rushed for 2,877 yards and 24 touchdowns on 559 rushes, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. He added 52 receptions for 422 yards and four touchdowns. Allen ranks ninth all-time in PSU in rushing attempts (559), 11th in rushing yards (2,877) and tied for 15th in rushing touchdowns (24).
He owns eight career 100-yard rushing games and four games with multiple rushing touchdowns.
Singleton was tabbed as a preseason All-American and was voted All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2024 as a running back and return specialist. Singleton owns 2,912 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns. He has eight career 100-yard rushing games and eight games with multiple rushing touchdowns.
He has 22 career 20-plus yard runs, 14 30-plus yard runs, 12 40-plus yard runs, five 50-plus yard runs, two 60-plus yard runs, two 70-plus yard runs and an 80-plus yard run.
Singleton leads returning FBS players with his 2,912 career rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns. He is the only FBS player averaging 5.8 yards per rush on 490-plus career rushing attempts.
