Golf tip of the week: Use your core for more power when golfing

The majority of weekend golfers could shoot lower scores by utilizing their core. The core consists of the chest and shoulder muscles.

They are the primary power source and should be used to initiate the backswing and the start of the downswing.

The biceps remain married to the upper ribcage, creating a connection that eliminates too much hand movement.

The upper body coils against the resistance of the lower body, creating kinetic energy on the downswing. By utilizing the core, you unlock hidden power with less effort. Using the larger muscles will help you enjoy this great game called golf.
