Kaar scores team’s lone goal as Williamsport boys blank Hazleton 1-0
Spencer Kaar scored Williamsport’s lone goal, but it was enough to give the Millionaires a 1-0 win over Hazleton on Thursday afternoon in boys soccer.
Kaar scored his unassisted goal in the first half with 25:43 remaining on the scoreboard.
“Our goal is to get the first goal every game so then we can start setting the tone,” Williamsport coach Brett Hofstrom said. “Then the other team has to adapt and stretch themselves hopefully. So getting that first goal is vital in every game.”
Williamsport out-shot Hazleton, 8-3, and Max Fink recorded two saves in goal to preserve the shutout as the Millionaires improve to 2-0.
Williamsport hosts State College on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Balls Mills.
