LHU lands Ted Bolin as an assistant coach

LOCK HAVEN — Ted Bolin has been named the assistant coach for the Lock Haven football program.

“We hit a home run with the hiring of Coach Bolin,” said Lock Haven football coach Joe Battaglia. “Teddy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from the highest level of Division 1 football. Coach Bolin was highly recommended from some of the top minds in college football and I’m excited to see him transform our defensive line room.”

Bolin joins Lock Haven after spending 2025 as an assistant coach with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League. Working under former BCS National Championship head coach Bob Stoops, Bolin coached the linebackers and helped with roster maintenance and development.

Prior to making the leap to the UFL, Bolin spent five seasons at the University of Arizona as a graduate assistant, before being promoted to defensive analyst. Bolin was on staff for the complete reboot of the program, that improved from a 1-11 record to 10-3 in 2023. Bolin guided the defensive line, which featured four eventual professionals, including two that went on to play in the National Football League.

“The addition of Ted to the Lock Haven football staff is an immediate game changer for the program overall and will be value added based on his wealth of experience he brings from coaching at various collegiate football levels,” said Director of Athletics Albert Jones. “Ted will make a positive impact on supporting the foundational success already in place. Coach Battaglia has established a coaching staff that is innovative, aggressive and ready to win. Ted is #LockedIn and I am excited for the direction of the Lock Haven Football program.”

Bolin got his start in coaching as a volunteer assistant under National Championship winning and current NFL coach Jim Harbaugh at the University of Michigan. Bolin’s title was an intern defensive backs coach, a group that featured six future NFL draft selections.

Bolin graduated from Michigan in 2020 with a bachelor of art and sport management, before earning a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Arizona in 2024.

“Thank you to Albert Jones, Coach Battaglia, and Coach Derasmo for giving me the opportunity to coach Defensive Line at Lock Haven,” said Bolin. “I am excited to be here and help this team reach its full potential as a football team, but more importantly as men in the Lock Haven community. Go Bald Eagles!”
