Hughesville’s girls tennis team opened the season strong with a 5-0 win against Montoursville in both team’s season openers. Georgia Randall defeated Elsa Kehrer at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, while at No. 2 singles, it was Hughesville’s Rebecca Roberts with a 6-2, 6-4 win over MOntoursville’s Ali Ravert.

Hughesville’s Talia Saga beat Bella Aldinger at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles competition, Hughesville’s team of Gracie Budman and Caroline Hicks beat Kenna Vought and Mya Wilson, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 competition. At No. 2 doubles, the Spartan’s Carly Sones and Shelby Myers beat Ava Barto and Charlotte Nau, 6-0, 6-0.

Jersey Shore suffered a 4-1 loss against Danville. Josie Bendle of Danville beat Josie Gerst at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0.

The Bulldogs’ lone win came at No. 2 singles where Julia Herman beat Gyovanna Sundareson, 6-3, 6-3. Shore’s Molly Dalton fell to Alexa Preisz at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-2.

Jersey Shore’s doubles team of Azlyn Guerrero and Kamryn Kowalski fell to Elyse Sparh and Sanah Bhanushali of Danville, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1.

Loyalsock earned a tough 3-2 win against Lewisburg. The Lancers secured the victory thanks to sweeping the singles competition.

Caroline Crawford won for Loyalsock at No. 1 singles over Daissi Weiss, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 in a close contest. At No. 2 and No. 3 singles, Loyalsock needed three sets to secure the win. Gia Bacchi won at No. 2 singles over Christina Zheng, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5. At No. 3 singles, Loyalsock’s Vivian Reem beat Ella Markunsa, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles action, Loyalsock’s Kinsley Hill and Annalise Berger fell to Lewisburg’s Nora Driver and Hailey Exley in a three-set contest, 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1.
