Lyco women’s soccer placed second in Landmark Conference Preseason Poll
The Lycoming College women’s soccer team was picked to finish second in the 2025 Landmark Conference Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The poll unanimously picked Scranton to win its sixth straight Landmark Conference championship. Lycoming, which fell to Scranton, 3-0, in the 2024 Landmark Conference Championship, finished second with 67 points ahead of Catholic (63), Elizabethtown (56), Moravian (53) and Drew (42) in the six conference championship slots. Susquehanna (33), Wilkes (25), Juniata (21) and Goucher (9) round out the poll.
Lycoming ended the 2024 season with a program record of 15 wins while finishing 15-3-2, which surpassed the record of 12 held by the 2022 squad. The 2024 team also advanced to postseason play for only the second time — joining the 2022 team — and Lycoming won its first postseason game in the Landmark Conference Championship semifinal, 2-1, over Moravian.
The team returns a pair of third-team all-region players in senior Aubrey Williamson and junior Mikayla Long – a Lewisburg graduate. Long, who earned the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year award in 2023, tied for second in the league with nine goals as she picked up First Team All-Landmark Conference honors in 2024. Williamson, who led the league with nine assists en route to second-team all-conference honors, also broke the program record for career assists, finishing the year with 20.
Lycoming also returns junior midfielder Ella Magee and senior goalkeeper Riley Block, both of whom were second-team all-conference picks in 2024. Magee also finished tied for second in the league in goals (9). She scored goals in eight of the team’s 20 games in 2024, also adding three assists. Block led the Landmark Conference with a .881 save percentage, as she allowed just 12 goals in 17 games, pitching shutouts of conference opponents, Moravian, Juniata, Catholic, Wilkes and Elizabethtown.
The Warriors open the 2025 season at 3 p.m. on Friday at Utica.
