Mansfield announces its recruiting class
MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Mountaineer sprint football program and eighth-year coach John Evans welcome 43 new members to the program as the Mounties start their preparations for the 2025 season.
Branching across eight positions, the coaching staff landed athletes from California, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Washington D.C, Pennsylvania and an international athlete from Canada.
Mansfield landed 25 defensive athletes, 17 offensive players, and a special teams member.
“We are very excited as we are bringing in the largest class in program history of 43, mixed with a strong group of returning veterans. We are expecting big things this season,” Evans said.
Mansfield capped off last season with multiple accolades to show for it including the league MVP, the Offensive Player of the Year, and three Second Team honors. Their 3-1 conference record stood as the team’s best since 2019 and the red and black will look to keep the success at the highest level with the goal to reach the Collegiate Sprint Football League championship.
This talented freshman group will help bolster a strong returning squad, which included 11 members who reached All-CSFL status this past season.
