Muncy girls field hockey defeats Southern Columbia 5-0
Muncy played its first game at home this year in girls field hockey and came away with a convincing 5-0 win over Southern Columbia on Thursday afternoon at Muncy.
Selah Persing scored in the first quarter for a 1-0 lead. It was then Rosie Zalonis who scored in the second quarter for a 2-0 lead before she assisted Avery Waldman for a 3-0 lead going into the break.
Freshman Ashlyn Lamper scored the fourth goal of the game, unassisted, before Persing was assisted by Lindsay Rogers for the game’s final goal.
The win moves Muncy to 2-1 as the Indians shook off a 6-1 loss earlier in the week to Northwest ith Thursday’s win. Muncy hosts Milton on Saturday before a string of three straight road games at Benton (Sept. 4), Line Mountain (Sept. 9) and Warrior Run (Sept. 11).
