Shore boys soccer opens 2025 with 3-1 road loss to Wellsboro

On Monday afternoon, the Jersey Shore boys soccer team travelled to Wellsboro for its opening matchup of 2025, looking to kick it off on a high note. Though Ezra Paulhamus connected with Dylan Hensler for a goal late in the first half, it came after the Green Hornets had scored three, a defifit the Bulldogs couldn’t make up as they fell 3-1.

Wellsboro’s Jonathan Carl and goalkeeper Tom Camden were the stars of the show through Monday, with Carl scoring the team’s first two goals – one coming in the first minute of action – and Camden logging nine saves. David Seeling also impacted the scoreboard for the Green Hornets, upping the team’s lead to 2-0 on an unassisted attempt.

For Shore, Abe Paulhamus and Aiden Lape split time in the goal, combining for five saves.

Jersey Shore will have a chance to bounce back on Wednesday when it faces Shamokin at 4:30 at home. The Green Hornets’ next game comes on the road against Galeton, with it being set for 5:30 on the road.
