Kegler’s Korner: Chris Bailey’s 810 series leads the area
Top bowlers in last week’s action were Chris Bailey whose 810 series in the Monday Night Classic League was his first career 800 series, and Danielle Barlet who tossed a 696 in the Thursday Night Bowling League. Close behind Bailey was Tony Bixby who hit 800 on the nose in the Intercommunity League. Best game of the week for the ladies was Stacy Gridley’s 270 in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League.
Mike Pepperman tossed a 300 game in the Monday Night Classic, and was matched by Matt DeSanto who rolled his first career perfect game in the Intercommunity. On the sport shot in the Three-Man Major League, Steve Prince left the last pin to finish a 299 game.

Before the State Seniors Tournament begins in Williamsport on Oct. 4, it’s time to recognize the best performances by local bowlers in each event in the State Open Tournament, which wrapped up last spring. Best finish among local bowlers was the 16th place finish in the Scratch Team Event by the DRS Lawn Care team who shot a 3,368. John Heck Jr. finished in 21st place in the Scratch Singles Event with a 745, while his 2,091 put him in 48th place in the Scratch All Events.
Spurge Strike Force finished in 29th place in the Handicap Team Event. Brenda Fessler finished in 44th place in the No Bowl Seniors Handicap Event. In the No Bowl Seniors Scratch Singles Event, Jeff Morgan finished in 72nd place. Finishing in 97th place in the Scratch Doubles Event was the team of Dustin Schmouder amd Randy Drake with a 1,337. Matt DeSanto finished in 109th place in the Handicap Singles Event. Chris Yoder finished in 195th place in the Handicap All Events and Tom Davis and Charles Artman Sr. finished in 198th place in the Handicap Doubles Event.
