Kegler’s Korner: Local bowling season is now underway

The local bowling season is underway again, as a few leagues have been bowling for one or more weeks, while all leagues will be up and running this week. Joselyn Remphrey had a great start to her season as she fired a 290 her last game, producing a 764 series in the 10+6 Ladies League to top all the women in both categories.

Leading the men was Cody Daldo with a 780 series in the Thursday Night Bowling League, while John Heck Jr’s 290 in the Intercommunity League captured the men’s high game honors.

Following are the highest scores for each local leagues.

Seems like a good time to recap the 2024-25 season in which local bowlers bowled 51 800 series and 85 300 games, give or take a few perhaps. Forty-one 700 series were bowled by local women with Karla Anderson leading the way with 16, 13 of which won her bowler of the week titles, the most by any local bowler. Brad Pepperman recorded seven 800 series on his way to capturing bowler of the week honors four times, most for the men.

John Heck Jr. shot seven perfect games to lead all local bowlers in that categories, while Anderson was the only woman to bowl a 300 game last season.
