Kegler’s Korner: Rickard, Day both bowl 800 series

The Monday Night Classic League saw two 800 series last week, with Dave Rickard’s 837 besting Tim Day’s 803 for male bowler of the week honors. In that same league Danielle Barlet shot a 699 series to garner female bowler of the week honors. Congratulations to Jeremy Strouse who rolled the first 300 game of his career in the Intercommunity league and followed it with another perfect game the next night in the Brenda Welshans Memorial League.

Also firing 300 games were Brandon Koser in the Monday Night Classic, Brad Pepperman in the Intercommunity and Mike Shaffer in the Andy Tressler Memorial League. In the Thursday Night Bowling League, Corey Myers tossed a 279 game, which not only secured female high game honors for the week but was also more than 100 pins above her average. Tim Day and Ernie Wentzel each posted a 299 game in the Monday Night Classic.

The league-leading 247 game in the Noxaf League posted by Jim Shearer was more than 60 pins over his average, as was Carissa Smith’s 205, the top women’s game in the Andy Tressler Memorial.

Congratulations to the following women for achieving the best performances by local bowlers in each event of the 2025 State Women’s Tournament. Jamie Welty captured eighth place in the handicap all events as well as finishing 13th in the handicap doubles event with partner Robin Stahl. Their 2,283 score secured 36th place in the scratch team event for the H.M. Wonder Women Team. In the scratch doubles event, Alicia Edkins and Amanda Heck shot a 1,227, landing in 41st place. Edkins also finished 73rd in the scratch singles event with a 633, and 84th in the scratch all events with an 1,836. In the handicap team event, Entz Trucking finished in 79th place. Nicole Breen finished in 138th place in the handicap singles event.
