LHU hopes to beat Indiana (Pa.) on road in football

Lock Haven won an exciting game last week, holding off Glenville State as the defense played well the final two quarters to seal a 16-13 win at Hubert Jack Stadium.

Now, the Bald Eagles are hoping that momentum carries into Week 2 as Lock Haven travels to PSAC foe Indiana (Pa.) this afternoon for a 4 p.m. game.

Lock Haven had success in just about every facet of the game last week. Jackson Ostrowsky threw for 190 yards while going 15 for 26 and on the ground, Ezequiel Johnson had 11 carries for 90 yards, averaging 8.2 per rush while Damir Green averaged 7.6 yards (10 for 76).

Lock Haven had seven players reel in passes in Durrell Ceasar (4 for 63), Johnson (3 for 50), Jaiden Huntington (3 for 44), Cureem Hathcock (2 for 12), Chase gallagher (1 for 12), Jake Roerts (1 for 9) and Mekhi Watson (1 for 0).

But Lock Haven’s defense will have to play better defending the pass. While Lock Haven limited Glenville State to 117 passing yards — Jeremiah King had just 78 on 21 carries individually — Glenville State did throw for 296 with the arm of Anthony Garrett.

Garrett also had two passing touchdowns and went 23 for 35. The Bald Eagles know they’ll have to play better defensively against Indiana (Pa.) today.

Indiana (Pa.) has won the last 35 matchups against the Bald Eagles, a streak dating back to 1982. Last year’s game was a 3-point victory by IUP.

Indiana (Pa.) lost to No. 23rd-ranked Ashland last week, 13-9, in a tough contest. Indiana (Pa.)’s scores game on a 55-yard touchdown pass by Randy Washington from Matthew Rueve and a 44-yard field goal by Nick Andrasi.

Rueve finisihed 13 for 23 for 221 yards and a touchdown, but did throw three interceptions. On the ground, the Crimson Haks were held to negative-15 rushing yards.

Starting at $2.99/week.
