• Bucknell men’s cross country has experienced a renaissance in the 2025 and the freshman corps have powered that rejuvenation of Orange & Blue glory. Ryan Pepperman is the latest freshman to flash and the league office on Monday awarded the newcomer Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week for his performance at the YSU Invitational.

“Ryan has been able to adjust nicely to the training program as well as the 8k distance,” said head coach Kevin Donner. “He has been our pleasant surprise so far while contending for our team’s top seven.”

Pepperman ran 26:30.40 against a tough field. He was the third-fastest freshman in the competition. He impressively built up stamina during the race and continued to climb the ranks. The rookie sat 32th at 1k and by the 4k mark slotted 18th. By the finish line of the 8k race, he slotted 14th.

• Shaelan McNally has ripped across the eastern cross country scene like a fall typhoon and continued her ascension at Saturday’s YSU Invitational winning second place against a strong field of competition. The conference office acknowledged her impressive performance on Monday awarding the sophomore sensation with her third Patriot League Women’s Runner of the Week award of 2025.

“Shaelan is obviously having a great season so far after an up-and-down freshman year,” said head coach Kevin Donner. “She loves the sport of distance running and is much more consistent with her training and racing than a year ago.”

McNally’s second place finish occurred due to the first place Youngstown State runner’s familiarity with the home course. Her time of 17.44 was still only eight seconds behind the homefield advantage runner and established a new personal best on a 5k course for the Bison distancewoman.

• The Lock Haven volleyball team traveled to Indiana (Pa.) for a mid-week out-of-conference match. The Crimson Hawks won the match 3-1 (25-17, 25-11, 22-25, 25-18).
