Bowlers of the Week in last week’s action are Randy Drake who rolled an 806 series in the Monday Night Classic, and Amanda Heck who posted a 696 in the Intercommunity League. In that same league, Stacy Gridley’s 267 took female high game honors. The Faxon Sport League saw two perfect games, one by Kell Bonnell and one by Duane Forrest Jr who tossed the first 300 of his career. Also bowling 300 games were Mike Bohner and Brad Pepperman, both in the Intercommunity. In the Noxaf League, Theresa Dunlap bowled more than 90 pins above her average with a 200 game. Sharif Mercer’s 279 game in the Thursday Night Men’s League was more than 80 pins above his average, while Brianna Barton ‘was more than 70 pins above her average with a 225 game in the Faxon Classic. Brittany Weidler’s 257 in the Thursday Night Bowling League beat her average by more than 60 pins and Ruth McMahon beat her average by more than 50 pins with a 189 in the Saturday Night Moonlighters league.

In 1961, the Corder’s Cleaners team bowled a 3,229 to set a new high-team series record. Although John Coder was undoubtedly a member of that team, the other four members have been lost to history. That record has been broken 17 times since then, with the current record being held by the Lyco Lube team (Tim Day, Sean Monoski, Brad and Shawn Pepperman, DeWayne Harris), which posted a 3,825 on April 24, 2017.

Just so you know, the Pennsylvania State record is 3,905 bowled in Wilkes-Barre in 2001 and the National record is 3,986 bowled in St Louis in 2016. .
