Loyalsock suffers 34-13 loss to Bloomsburg in playoffs

Wyatt Brosious and Jharee Moore-Stewart had solid performances on Friday in the District 4 Class AA playoffs as the duo ere key in handing Loyalsock a 34-13 loss as Bloomsburg advanced.

Brosious had an 11-yard touchdown pass to Moore-Stewart in the first quarter before Brosious had two touchdown runs in the second quarter — a 2-yard score and a 3-yard run.

Jalil Coates scored with 6:25 to play when he broke a 32-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 14-7, but that was the closest the Lancers came to rallying. Brosious’ 3-yard run with 1:44 left make it a 21-7 halftime lead for Bloomsburg.

In the third quarter, neither team scored. Moore-Stewart had a 42-yard touchdown run in the fourth with 6:12 to play before then having a 54-yard interception return to make it a 34-7 lead with 3:44 to play in the game, all but sealing the win.

Jalil Coates caught a 50-yard touchdown pass with 1:14 to play.

Coates ran the ball 31 times for 149 yards to lead the Lancers’ ground game. Moore-Stewart had 92 rushing yards on seven carries and Brosious had 42 yards on 17 carries with his two touchdowns. Brosious also went 11 for 12 for 104 yards and a touchdown. Coates had 70 receiving yards to lead Loyalsock on five receptions.
